Last week I received a question from a customer via email that I would like to share with you:
Good morning Charles,
A few months ago you sent out an advisory suggesting we do not download Windows 10. I received an email today from someone I know who tells me that Microsoft will be ending all support for other systems…updates etc. and that I should download Window 10.
A woman I know downloaded Windows 10 to her laptop a couple weeks ago and wishes she hadn’t…she doesn’t like it (not sure why).
I assume all new computers will have Windows 10 but until then, would I not be just as well off to keep what I have….since the system does all I need it to do? I would appreciate your advice.
Hello Paul (1),
You are right: you are just as well keeping what you have since it does what you need it to do. Windows Vista will be supported until April, 2017; Windows 7 until January 2020 and W8 until January 2023. ATTENTION: If you are using Windows 8.0 and not 8.1, you need to update to 8.1 as soon as possible to continue receiving Windows security updates. See my reference below.
